The Trappers hosted a show for the public demonstrating skinning and featuring trapping related contests. There were also tables for vendors of outdoors sporting equipment and gear.
Gerry K. kindly provided the photo showing our new club banner on the NOSA information table, staffed here by Jordan and Samantha.
Displays were open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday 01 March; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday 02 March.
This annual two-day NOSA Spring Gun Show featured the opportunity for the public to buy, sell, or trade: Guns, Knives, Ammunition, Collectors' Cartridges, Reloading Supplies, Optics, and Accessories. A food concession was on site.
Location: The Slovak Legion, 801 Atlantic Ave., Thunder Bay, Ontario P7C 2S7 Canada.
Show Hours for the Public were: Saturday 9 March from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 10 March from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Admission for the Public was $5.00 each day, and free for those under 12 when accompanied by an adult.
NOSA had an information display about our Club, and our activities promoting the shooting sports including our Junior Shooters Program. This show provided some of the annual funding for the Juniors.
We gratefully thank the vendors for putting on some very interesting displays and educating the public about the history of firearms. A special thank you to Deb Bissonette from the Chief Firearms Office for again helping the public understand safe use and proper storage of firearms.
We very much appreciate the show organizers Trevor B. and Glenn H., and the many volunteers from NOSA that made this show run smoothly: Merv A., Dana C., Samantha D-R, John Gi., George H., Vern K., Dave and Jo-Anne and Kayla L., Bob M., Kristina P., Chris and Jordan R., and Neil. Also kudos for the many vendors who pitched in to help their fellow exhibitors carry heavy merchandise in and out. [If I've left anyone out here, please drop me an email.] Banacek took the accompanying photos.

NOSA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at the Slovak Legion from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A door prize was won by Vern K. and refreshments were provided.
This AGM's agenda included presentation of the annual budget and discussion of club business as well as the election of NOSA Executives for the next two years. The incumbents were returned by acclamation.
Bob M. emphasized that the two persons organizing our gun shows, Glenn H. and Trevor B., were very thankful for all the volunteer help at the actual show. However, the complexity of making all the advance arrangements has become ever more challenging, such that in future they would gratefully appreciate some volunteer help there too.
Our guest speaker was Executive Director John Kaplanis from Team NOSA (the other "NOSA", namely Northwestern Ontario Sportsmen's Alliance). He described the many advantages of affiliating with their group, and our NOSA has now formed a Limited Association Affiliation with them, working together for common goals.

Actually here's a preliminary photo taken By Gerry K. on 18 April that indicates we should be fine to start shooting on time.
The snow was pretty well gone and a few more days of warm and sunny weather should dry out the ranges enough to be comfortable.
But always bring some rubber boots just in case.

Other adult members still had a regular shooting evening, with some lanes left open for that purpose.

Show Hours for the Public were 09:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission was $4.00, and free for those under 12 when accompanied by an adult.
NOSA had an information display at the show about the NOSA Club, and our activities promoting the shooting sports including our Junior Shooters Program.

This was the first show that had a federal M.P. candidate present, Linda Rydholm for Thunder Bay-Rainy River, who is enthusiastically supportive of our responsible target shooting and hunting and fishing sports.
NOSA is extremely appreciative of the support to our club provided by our wonderful vendors and exhibitors and the general public, as well as our ever helpful volunteers -- thank you all.

The fall to spring indoor shooting schedule began at Arnone Range:

This service for the public was jointly hosted by NOSA and TB Fish & Game on Sunday 22 September at the F & G Range from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Our thanks to the NOSA and F & G members who were available to assist individuals needing help with the actual sighting in process. Initial firing was at the 25 yard distance on Range 1, followed by final sighting in at 100 yards on Range 2.
Members of the public who shot paid $5.00 for use of the range (this fee is used to cover the cost of insurance).

This shoot for all NOSA club members, including Junior Shooters and young family members, was organized by Trapper-John A., and there was a fine BBQ at lunch time, run as always by our super-chef, Bob M. Food and beverages were provided free by NOSA.
This annual event is in appreciation of the volunteerism and support shown by all members, whether at special events or just in the day to day help provided to others. Shooting events were free to participate and included rimfire (RF) and centerfire (CF) handguns and rifles.
